COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Tigers are set to play the first of back-to-back games against Fort Valley State University tonight at 7:30 p.m. inside the HRC Arena.
Benedict is coming off of an impressive win at home on Saturday against Clark Atlanta University (83-70).
Deon Joyner has led the Tigers on the season averaging 15.1 points per game. On Saturday, Joyner scored a team high 17 points and brought in eight rebounds to lead the Tigers past the Panthers.
After losing nine straight, Fort Valley State University (5-15) has notched back-to-back victories for the first time this season. During their last two games, the Wildcats have been led by Shawn Foxbrennen, who is averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds per game, as well as K'Viontae Williams, who is averaging 15.5 points, 4.5 assists and 4 rebounds per game.
Fort Valley State is third in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) in rebounding margin (1.7) and third in the SIAC in defensive rebounding (26.32). The Tigers will look to take down the Wildcats as they are hoping to collect their 10th win on the season.
