CENTRAL, S.C. – The Benedict College women's track & field team won four events and had several other outstanding performances at the Susan Rouse Invitational on Saturday on the campus of Southern Wesleyan University.

Sherona Stewart dominated the field in the 400-meter dash by running a personal-best time of 55.66 to win the event.

Savionna Glover recorded a personal-best jump of 11.70 meters (38 feet, 4 inches) to win the triple jump. She also finished second in the long jump with a mark of 5.34 meters (17 feet, 6 inches). 

Johnelle Johnson won the discus throw with a mark of 43.92 meters (144 feet, 1 inch). She also finished seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.81 meters (120 feet, 9 inches).

The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Savionna Glover, Kassie Jordan, Charity Williams and Helcy-Ann Sauver finished first with a time of 49.22 That time ranks first in the SIAC.

Kimone Reid finished second in the discus throw with her mark of 41.28 meters (135 feet, 5 inches) and eighth in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.10 meters (118 feet, 5 inches).

Charity Williams finished third overall in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:09.49.

Kaciann Cowan finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 16.78.

Helcy-Ann Sauver finished fifth overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.01.

Kassie Jordan finished 10th overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.93.

Charneycar Casimir finished 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.06.

Shamia Colden-Burson finished 10th in the hammer throw with a personal-best of 35.28 meters (115 feet, 9 inches). She also finished eighth in the shot put with a mark of 10.22 meters (32 feet, 6 inches).

Kristion Jeffries finished fourth in the high jump with 1.47 meters (4 feet, 9 inches).

Kyra Buffen finished eighth in the high jump with a jump of 1.45 meters (4 feet, 9 inches). She also finished seventh in the long jump with a season-best jump of 4.72 meters (15 feet, 6 inches).

Brittaney Orr had a season-best performance of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches) in the high jump, where she finished fourth overall. She finished eighth in the long jump with 4.71 meters (15 feet, 5 inches).

Kristion Jeffries finished fifth in the high jump with a jump of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches).

Aanya Howard finished eighth in the high jump with a jump of 1.45 meters (4 feet, 9 inches). She also jumped 4.50 meters (14ft 9 inches) in the long jump.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Eilika Lane, Sherona Stewart, Charneycar Casimir and Naila Harris finished second with a time of 4:00.95.

The Benedict track & field teams are back in action on March 19 and 20 at the Columbia International Rams Invitational.
