COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's outdoor track and field team finished in a tie for fourth place at the 2025 Cricket SIAC Championship at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track at the University of South Carolina on Friday.
The Lady Tigers finished with 65 total points, tied with Fort Valley State. Tuskegee won the championship with 177.50 points, while Albany State was second with 172. Clark Atlanta was third with 116 points.
Friday saw the Lady Tigers win two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal.
Jada David won her second gold medal of the championship, winning the triple jump with a jump of 12.04 meters (39 feet, 6 inches).
Anaiya Houseal won the gold medal in the high jump, clearing 1.65 meters (5 feet, 5 inches).
Yassmine Chambers finished second in the discus throw, with a mark of 40.45 meters (132 feet, 9 inches).
Daneika Williamson scored with an eighth-place finish, throwing 35.46 meters (116 feet, 4 inches).
Chambers also finished third in the shot put with a mark of 12.54 meters (41 feet, 1 ¾ inches).
Paris Stanton scored with a sixth-place finish with a mark of 11.48 meters (37 feet, 8 inches).
Santiona Freeman finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.08. Houseal earned a point for the Benedict team with an eighth-place finish with a time of 15.34.
Shantel Williams scored a point with an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.16. She also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.10.
