COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers scored 20 points on Wednesday in the second day of the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, presented by Toyota at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina, and now stand in sixth place.
Yassmine Chambers was a two-time medalist on Wednesday, finishing second in the women's discus with a throw of 40.95 meters (134 feet, 4 inches), and finishing third in the women's shot put with a mark of 12.69 meters (41 feet, 7 ½ inches).
Areale Mitchell finished third in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.18 meters (36 feet, 8 ¼ inches).
Gabrielle Pinder advanced to Thursday's final of the 100-meter dash with the fastest time of the day - 11.81 seconds.
Tuskegee leads the women's field with 100 points, followed by Albany State (79 points), Clark Atlanta (36 points), Central State (32 points), Spring Hill (28 points), and Benedict (23 points).
The championship will conclude on Thursday, with medal events in the javelin, high jump, 4x100-meter relay, 1,500-meter run, 100-meter hurdles, 400-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 800-meter run, 400-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, 5,000-meter run, and 4x400-meter relay.
