COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's track & field team competed at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday, and had some outstanding performances.
Savionna Glover finished fourth overall in the long jump with a jump of 5.74 meters (18 feet, 10 inches). She also placed seventh in the triple jump with a jump of 11.93 meters (39 feet, 3 inches).
Kimone Reid finished sixth in the discus throw with her season-best mark of 44.05 meters (144 feet, 6 inches).
Johnelle Johnson finished ninth in the discus throw with a throw of 43 meters (141 feet, 1 inch).
Aanya Howard finished 10th in the high jump with a jump of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches). She also jumped 4.27 meters (14 feet) in the long jump.
Brittaney Orr ran a season-best time of 16.06 in the 100-meter hurdles. She also jumped 4.62 meters (15 feet, 2 inches) in the long jump.
On the track,
Helcy-Ann Sauver recorded two personal-best performances by finishing 13th overall in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.97 and 21st overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.93.
Kassie Jordan ran a season-best time of 12.32 in the 100-meter dash. She also ran a season-best time of 25.24 in the 200-meter dash.
Charity Williams ran 25.76 in the 200-meter dash and 1:08 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Naila Harris ran 2:26.84 in the 800-meter run.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Glover, Jordan, Williams, and Sauver finished fifth overall with a time of 47.25. The team is currently ranked No. 1 in the SIAC.
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Eilika Lane, Sauver, Williams and Jordan finished 11th with a time of 3:59.46.
Benedict will wrap up the spring season at the USC Open meet on April 17.
