COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's indoor track & field team opened the 2022 season on Friday and Saturday at the Gamecock Opener at the South Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.
Savionna Glover was the top performer for the Lady Tigers with a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 5.48 meters (17 feet, 11 ¾ inches).
Eilika Lane finished 24
th in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.98.
Shamia Colden-Burson had a strong showing in the women's weight throw with a mark of 12.03 meters (39 feet, 5 inches) for a 12
th-place finish.
Jane Kiborus ran a season-best time of 11:42.45 in the 3,000-meter run, finishing 16th overall.
Floma Okumu ran a personal-best time of 12:04.04 in the 3,000-meter run to finish 17
th, while
Lydia Kosgei finished 20th with a time of 12:45.55.
Paris Stanton finished 12th overall in the shot put with a throw of 11.00 meters (36 feet, 1 inch).
The Lady Tigers will be back in action this Friday and Saturday at the USC Carolina Challenge at the South Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex.
