COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's cross country team finished second out of 14 teams at the Akiah McMillan Invitational cross country meet hosted by Columbia College at the Par-Tee Golf Center on Saturday morning.
Megan Thompson led the team with a personal best time of 22:17.4 in the 6K race to finish second, 35 seconds behind winner Jackline Kosgei from UNC Pembroke.
Purity Kibet also had a top-five finish, coming in fourth overall with a time of 22:49.7.
Jane Kiborus finished 11th with a lifetime-best time of 23:58.
Floma Okumu was next to cross the finish line in 12th with a lifetime-best time of 24:03.2.
Torriann Noad finished 32nd overall with a lifetime-best time of 25:46.
Cavel Barnett ran a lifetime-best time of 25:55.3 to finish 35th overall.
Lydia Kosgei ran a personal-best time of 26:52.8, finishing 46th.
The Lady Tigers will compete in the Newberry Invitational at Newberry College on Oct. 22.
