COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College women's cross country team defeated Allen University 22-33 in the Columbia Harden Street XC Challenge meet at the Owens Field cross country course on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Megan Thompson was the top finisher, crossing the 5K course with a time of 23:28.0, while Mercy Kwambai was second with a time of 24:23.0. Torriann Noad was fourth overall with a time of 26:49.6. Lydia Kosgei was sixth overall with a time of 28:35.3, and Kanesha Moses was ninth with a time of 35:19.7.
 
Benedict will next compete in the SIAC Championship on Wednesday, Oct. 23 in Macon, Ga. The Lady Tigers are the two-time defending conference champions.
