ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its first men's basketball Players of the Week of the 2022-23 season.
 
Benedict junior Gob Gabriel was named Newcomer of the Week, while Beril Kabamba from Spring Hill was named Player of the Week.

Gabriel, a transfer from Hill College, had 14 points in his Benedict debut in a loss to Florida Tech, connecting on four of five 3-point attempts. He added eight points, three assists and two steals in a 76-49 win over Rollins.

Preseason all-conference first team selection Beril Kabamba led the Badgers to a 1-0 start on the season after recording 25 points, seven rebounds and one block in a 72-59 win against crosstown rival, Mobile, on Saturday night.
