LAKELAND, Fla. – The Benedict College women's cross country team set a school record with their best-ever team finish at the NCAA South Region Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Holloway Park.
Benedict finished 11
th out of 18 teams competing in the championship, the best-ever finish for the Lady Tigers.
Purity Kibet finished 41
st overall out of 119 runners, completing the 6K course in a time of 23:02 over a challenging course.
Megan Thompson finished 48
th with a time of 23:18.8, her second-fastest time ever in a 6K.
Jane Kiborus finished 55
th with a personal-best time of 23:26.1.
Floma Okumu finished 81
st with a time of 24:24.7, just a few seconds off her personal best.
Cavel Barnett finished 113
th with a time of 27:23.4 and
Lydia Kosgei ran a time of 28:03.4 to finish 116
th.
