ATLANTA, Ga.- Benedict College's Malachi McCoy was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, while Tim Moore earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.
 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Malachi McCoy

McCoy had a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds in Benedict's 102-90 road victory against Bluefield State. McCoy hit 8-of-10 field goals. His 18 rebounds matched his career high. He added two assists, one block, and one steal.

NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK– Tim Moore

Tim Moore, a junior transfer, had a season-high 25 points to lead Benedict to a 102-90 victory over Bluefield State in their only game of the week. Moore hit 11-of-18 shots and had five rebounds and three blocked shots before fouling out with three minutes remaining in the game.
