GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Benedict College women's track and field team competed at the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational on Saturday, and
Jane Kiborus broke the school record in the 3,000-meter steeple chase.
Kiborus ran a time of 12:02.82 to win the event, beating out a pair of Division I competitors. She is ranked No. 1 in the SIAC.
Jada David jumped a personal best in the triple jump with a jump of 11.92 meters (39 feet, 1 inch). She finished second overall against some high-powered Division I competition.
Savionna Glover finished third in the long jump with a jump of 5.60 meters (18 feet, 4 inches).
Aanya Howard jumped a personal best in the high jump with a jump of 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches) and finished seventh.
Kyra Buffen jumped a personal best in the high jump with a jump of 1.60 meters (5 feet, 3 inches) and finished sixth. She jumped 5.56 meters (18 feet, 3 inches) in the long jump and finished fifth.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team of
Savionna Glover,
Eilika Lane,
Shantel Williams and
Santiona Freeman finished fifth overall with a time of 47:47. They are currently ranked No. 1 in the SIAC.
The Lady Tigers compete at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday.
