ATLANTA, Ga. (January 10, 2022) – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its men's and women's basketball Players of the Week.
 
For women, Amari Heard (Savannah State) was named Player of the Week, while Sumaiyah Abdur-Rahim (Tuskegee) earned Newcomer of the Week.
 
For men, Marcus Scott V (Central State) was named Player of the Week, alongside, Asanti Price (Benedict) who earned Newcomer of the Week, released by the league office on Tuesday.

In his second week since joining the team in December, Price had a big week for the Tigers who went 1-2 on the week. Price averaged 15.7 points and three rebounds per game. He had a season-high 25 points and hit seven 3-pointers in a close loss to Tuskegee.
