COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The Benedict College women's track and field team was back in action this weekend at the South Carolina Invitational held at the University of South Carolina Indoor facility. The Lady Tigers made a statement in their third meet of the season with several breakthrough performances.
Kassie Jordan set a new school record in the women's 300 meters with a time of 41.72, and also set a new personal record in the women's 200 meters.
Adrienne Daniels and
Sinia Massillon also set new personal records in the 60 meters and 60-meter hurdles.
Paris Stanton set a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of 12.32 meters (40 feet, 5 inches) and 12.78 meters (41 feet, 11 ¼ inches) in the weight throw.
Kaciann Cowan set a personal record in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.17.
Purity Kibet set a new personal record in the mile run with a time of 5:46.15, followed by
Floma Okumu in 5:47.96, and
Jane Kiborus with a time of 5:49.85.
In the long jump,
Cailyn Johnson set a new personal record with a jump of 5.03 meters (16 feet, 6 inches).Â

Benedict will return to the track on Feb. 17 to compete in the USC Indoor Invitational.
