Benedict's Kibet, Ricketts Named SIAC Performers Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga.  – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced its track and field weekly honors, released by the league office.

Donald Kibet (Benedict) and Nathalia Rowe (Albany State) were named this week's men and women Track Athletes of the Week, alongside Rajaun Ricketts (Benedict) and Sydney Blackburn (Albany State) who collected this week's men and women Field Athletes of the Week honor.

Track Performer of the Week – Donald Kibet, Benedict
Donald Kibet smashed the Benedict school record in the 5,000-meter run, running 14:38.76 in the rain and cold to win the event. Kibet also won the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:32.15.
 
Field Performer of the Week – Rajaun Ricketts, Benedict
Rajaun Ricketts finished second overall in a field loaded with Division I athletes in the triple jump with a jump of 14.85 meters (48 feet, 8 ¾ inches). That currently ranks fourth in NCAA Division II. He also finished eighth in the long jump with a jump of 6.94 meters (22 feet, 9 ¼ inches).
