COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict's
DuShaun Tucker was named the SIAC Field Performer of the Year, and
David Smith won the 100-meter dash to highlight the final day of the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, presented by Toyota, at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina on Thursday.

Tucker won his third medal of the tournament on Thursday, finishing third in the javelin with a throw of 45.83 meters (150 feet, 4 inches) and earned 22 total points in three events. He won the hammer throw on Tuesday and was third in the shot put on Wednesday.
Smith won the 100-meter dash to earn the title of fastest man in the SIAC with a time of 10.49. He also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.36.
Zack Washington finished second in the javelin with a throw of 46.95 meters (154 feet). Washington also finished in a tie for seventh place in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters (6 feet, 2 ¾ inches).
Bravin Bor finished second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:16.46. He also finished seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:14.89.
Terrel Alexander finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.33
Jacobie Sims finished seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.59, and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.34.
Benedict, the defending SIAC men's champions, finished third in the team standings with 102 points. Morehouse won the men's championship with 176 points, while Albany State was second with 126 points.
