ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Tennis Players of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 25, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in matches played last week. Tom Gutermann (Spring Hill) and Valerie Essome (Benedict) were recognized.

Benedict's No. 1 player helped the Lady Tigers open SIAC play with a 5-2 victory over Edward Waters. Essome doubled with Carmen Kpadonou for a 6-3 victory at No.1 doubles. In singles action, she tok a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Edward Waters' No. 1 singles player Giulia Peres.
