COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's and women's cross country teams opened the 2025 season on a rainy Monday afternoon in the 2025 Gladiators XC Classic at Owens Field.
For the Lady Tigers,
Caren Kipkoech won the meet with a time of 22:15.89 over the 5K course, while teammate
Mercy Kwambai was second with a time of 23:38.46.
Destinee Tiller finished 10
th overall with a time of 27:00.64, while
Torriann Noad was 13
th with a time of 28:39.21.
Jordan Tanksley rounded out the Lady Tigers, finishing 15
th with a time of 30:52.36.
For the men's team, only two runners competed.
Quincy Harris finished fourth with a time of 27:39.44, while
William Fennoy was eighth with a time of 30:14.20.
Benedict will return to action on Friday, when they compete in the Cedric Walker HBCU XC Challenge in Cary, N.C.
