LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Benedict College men's and women's indoor track & field teams both finished third at the 2026 SIAC Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship presented by Toyota on Friday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
The Lady Tigers finished with 75 total points, and picked one gold medal during Friday's second and final day of the championship.
Yassmine Chambers won the women's shot put with a meet record mark of 13.02 meters (42 feet, 8 ¾ inches). It was the second gold medal of the championship for Chambers, who won the women's weight throw on Thursday.
The men's team also finished third, scoring 85 total points. The Tigers had three second-place finishes during Friday's events.
Morehouse won the men's championship with 149 points, followed by Tuskegee (92) and Benedict.
Tuskegee won the women's championship with 241 points, followed by Central State (131) and Benedict.
Other notable performances on Friday for Benedict:
- DuShaun Tucker finished second in the men's shot put with a mark of 14.98 meters (49 feet, 1 ¾ inches).
- Terrel Alexander finished second in the men's 400-meter run with a time of 48.22, and finished third in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.64.
- Stephen Judd finished second in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.58.
- Zack Washington finished third in the men's triple jump with a jump of 14.57 meters (47 feet, 9 ¾ inches). Washington also finished fifth in the men's high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters (6 feet, 4 ¾ inches).
- David Smith finished third in the men's 60-meter dash with a time of 6.92.
- Gabrielle Pinder finished second in the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 24.88. She also finished fourth in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.74.
- Jada Williams finished fifth in the women's 60-meter dash with a time of 7.85.
- Jacobie Sims finished fourth in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36.
- Anaiya Houseal finished fifth in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.41.
- Mondell Hutto finished sixth in the men's triple jump with a jump of 14.11 meters (46 feet, 3 ½ inches).
