Tigers Take Pair From Clark Atlanta

COLUMBIA, SC -- Christopher Lail pitched six shutout innings, striking out five to help the Tigers pick up a 3-0 victory over Clark Atlanta University.  Michael Jordan would pitch the seventh inning and pick up the save in game one of a doubleheader.

In game two David Weber would hit his fifth home run of the season and collect two RBIs as the Tigers offense led them to a 13-7 win. John Walton picked up his fourth win of the season pitching six innings, striking out five, and giving up just three earned runs.

The Tigers would start out the day on top as Michael Jordan would draw a walk, steal second base, steal third base, and score on a ground out by Weber in the bottom of the first inning of game one.

The Tigers would strike again in the bottom of the third when Dondrelle Folk would bunt for a hit and score on an error by the shortstop. Lydell Moseby would knock in another run on a RBI single.

This would be the end of the scoring for the game as Lail and Jordan would shut down Clark Atlanta's offense for the rest of the day, limiting the Panthers to four hits.

In game two the Tigers would jump on Clark Atlanta early with a five run first inning sparked by a two run home run off the bat of Weber. Elisha McDaniel and Andre Collum would also collect RBIs in the inning.

Clark Atlanta would respond in the top of the second inning with a two run home run from Robert Brown to make it a 5-2 ballgame. Weber and Christopher Moye' would score in the bottom of the second inning to bring the score to 7-2.

Clark Atlanta would capitalize off of two errors to score two runs in the third inning. The Tigers would use wild pitches and stolen bases to plate three in the bottom of the third to take the score to 10-4.

The Tigers would add on three in the fifth inning with runs by Weber, Moye', and Collum. Brandon Pengilley would enter the game for John Walton in the seventh inning and would give up three runs but eventually close out the ballgame 13-7.

The Tigers will play the last game of this three game series against Clark Atlanta Sunday at 1 p.m.
