Albany State Takes Softball Doubleheader From Lady Tigers

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Albany State University swept a softball doubleheader against Benedict College on Saturday at King Park.

Albany State took advantage of eight Benedict errors to take the first game 8-3. Albany State won the second game 5-1, limiting Benedict to four hits in the game.

Victoria Bratton went 3-for-4 in the first game against Albany State, while BerGearia Major was 2-for-3. Olivia Oxford had two of Benedict's four hits in the second game.

The Lady Tigers closed out the conference part of their schedule and dropped to 23-19 overall and 15-11 in the SIAC. The Lady Tigers clinched second place in the SIAC East Division heading into next week's conference tournament. Benedict will close out the regular season on Monday with a non-conference doubleheader against Johnson C. Smith at 4 p.m. at King Park. The contest will be Senior Day for Benedict's seniors.
