Lady Tigers Repeat As NCAA Rebounding Champions

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA has released the final statistic leaders with the conclusion of the 2014-15 women's basketball season, and Benedict College has repeated as rebounding champion.

Benedict led the nation in rebounding margin for the second straight year, beating Washburn University by a very slim margin.

The Lady Tigers finished with 1,448 rebounds, while their opponents had 1,120 rebounds, for a difference of 328 more rebounds than their opponents. Over the course of 30 games, Benedict (23-7) averaged 10.93 more rebounds than their opponents per game.

Washburn had 1180 rebounds on the season, while their opponents had 875, for a difference of 305. Washburn finished 16-12 overall, and averaged 10.89 more rebounds than its opponents per game. Benedict won the statistical award by just two rebounds.

Last year, Benedict beat out national champion Bently for the rebound margin title with an average of 11.4 more rebounds than their opponents per game.
