Benedict Baseball Team Sets School Record With 35-0 Win

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Benedict College baseball team set a school record by scoring 35 runs in a 35-0 victory over the University of Valley Forge on Friday at the Cal Ripken Baseball Complex on Friday.

The Tigers pounded out 35 hits, while five Benedict pitchers combined for the shutout and limited Valley Forge to just two hits.

Benedict improves to 6-3 on the season. Valley Forge, an NCAA Division III school from Pennsylvania, falls to 1-10.

David White Jr. led the offensive charge by going 4-for-6 with four RBIs. White had four doubles in the contest. Christopher Floyd was 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Myles Snype went 2-for-3 and drove in four runs with a bases-loaded double in the seventh and an RBI triple in the fifth inning. Robert Troiano III went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and scored five runs. Reinaldo Santiago went 2-for-3 with four RBIs.

The Tigers face another NCAA Division III team on Saturday at the Ripken Baseball Complex, taking on Lancaster Bible College at 8 p.m.
