ATLANTA – The Benedict College softball team will be the third seed from the East Division and will face Miles College in the opening round of the SIAC Softball Championship.
The tournament starts Thursday at the Gordon Sports Complex in Albany, Ga.
The Lady Tigers, 23-13 overall and 9-10 in the SIAC, will meet Miles, 11-34 overall and 11-8 in the SIAC, at noon on Thursday.
Benedict and Miles did not face each other this season. Their scheduled meeting at the SIAC Crossover Tournament was rained out.
The winner of Thursday's contest will advance to face the winner between Albany State, the top seed on the East, and Lane, at noon on Friday. The loser will face the loser between Albany State and Lane at 10 a.m. on Friday.
The championship game is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday.
