Box Score 2 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Benedict College Lady Tigers dropped both games of a softball doubleheader on Wednesday against Winston-Salem State University.
Benedict lost the first game 9-0, then fell in the second game 8-1.
Benedict drops to 1-8 overall and Winston-Salem State improves to 4-7.
Taylor McNeal led the Lady Tigers with two hits on the day, while
Zanila Booker homered to give Benedict their only run on the day.
With two outs in the top of the first inning, Booker added a homer to give Benedict a 1-0 lead. Winston-Salem added four runs in the bottom half of the first and never looked back.
Benedict will open conference play on Saturday, hosting Albany State University in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
