Tigers Finish Second At SIAC Men's Cross Country Championship

MACON, Ga. – The Benedict College men's cross country team finished second in the 2022 Cricket Championships on Friday morning at the Georgia Premier Cross Country Course at Middle Georgia State University.
 
Donald Kibet won the race, covering the 8K course with a time of 24:50.38, more than one minute ahead of the second-place finisher, Brian Kemei of Morehouse College.
 
Morehouse claimed the 2022 conference championship, ending Benedict's two-year reign as conference champions.
 
Nelson Kipkemboi finished third overall with a time of 26:43.38. Ryusei Takahashi finished 12th with a time of 29:22.98, while Sadiki Marsh was 13th with a time of 29:32.17. Javel Best was 20th with a time of 30:12.15.
 
Matthew Paul was 28th with a time of 31:22.60, while Matthew Paul finished 31st with a time of 31:52.20.
 
The NCAA South Region meet will take place on Nov. 19 in Lakeland, Fla.
