ATLANTA, Ga. – Kayla Chance (Savannah State) was named Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Female Runner of the Week, while Donald Kibet (Benedict)earned Male Runner of the Week, released by the league office on Wednesday.
Female Runner of the Week – Kayla Chance, Savannah State
Senior Kayla Chance—the defending Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) individual cross country champion—led the entire field of 111 runners at the Queens City Open on Friday, finishing in first place with a time of 19:08.
Male Runner of the Week – Donald Kibet, Benedict
Freshman Donald Kibet finished third overall and second among collegiate runners with a personal best time of 24:34 at the Queens University of Charlotte Invitational last weekend. He led Benedict to an 11th place finish with 293 points in a field of 15 teams.
