CENTRAL, S.C. – The Benedict College women's track and field team competed at the Gotta Run Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University on Friday, and had several outstanding performances.
Kanesha Moses won the 400-meter run with a time of 57.42, while
Torriann Noad finished second with a time of 58.82.
Jada David won the triple jump with a jump of 11.89 meters (39 feet), and recorded a personal record of 5.06 meters (16 feet, 7 ¼ inches) to finish 12
th in the long jump. Her triple jump mark ranks first in the SIAC and 11
th in Division II.
Desire Young finished second in the high jump with a jump of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches).
Megan Thompson finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.18.
Santiona Freeman finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.67.
Benedict's team of Noad,
Cavel Barnett, Thompson, and Moses won the 4x400-meter relay race with a time of 4:01.28.
Benedict's team of Freeman,
Kiara Scott,
Xaria Bascombe, and Moses finished second in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.58.
Bascombe finished third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.47.
Paris Stanton finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 38.63 meters (126 feet, 9 inches).
The Lady Tigers compete in the Gamecock Invitational on April 6.
