ATLANTA, Ga. – The Benedict College women's track & field team finished in second place at the 2024 Cricket SIAC Men's and Women's Track and Field Championship, hosted by Morehouse College.
Albany State won the championship with 154 points, while Benedict finished with 117 points. Clark Atlanta was third with 104.5 points.
Saturday's final round was highlighted by
Xaria Bascombe winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.99.
Megan Thompson won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.45, and also scored in the 1,500-meter run, the 800-meter run, and the 5,000-meter run. She finished second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:08.73. She also finished seventh in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:35.78, and was fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 21:29.51.
Santiona Freeman finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28.
Torriann Noad finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.12. Noad also finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time 2:30.43.

Kiara Scott, and
Xaria Bascombe finished fifth with a time of 47.68.
Desire Young finished in sixth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches).
