ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Benedict College men's track & field team competed in the Sharonda Coleman-Singleton Classic, hosted by South Carolina State University, on Saturday and had several excellent performances.
David Smith finished fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.73.
Shun Taylor finished second in the long jump with a jump of 6.99 meters (22 feet, 11 ¼ inches).
JaQuon Tinch jumped 6.14 meters (20 feet, 1 ¾ inches) to finish 17
th.
Rajaun Ricketts finished fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 14.05 meters (46 feet, 1 ¼ inches).
Kevin Francis finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.95.
The 4x100-meter relay team of
Romel Russell,
Sergio White,
Makel Bridges, Smith with a time of 42.26.
Bridges finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.24.
Nelson Kipkemboi finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:43.17.
The Tigers compete at the USC Open on April 20.
