Box Score 3 ATLANTA, Ga. – The Benedict College softball team swept Clark Atlanta in a three-game SIAC series.
The Lady Tigers defeated Clark Atlanta 12-8 in eight innings, scoring five runs in the top of the eighth inning, on Friday afternoon. Benedict swept Saturday's doubleheader, scoring one run in the top of the seventh inning for a 3-2 victory, then scoring eight runs in the first inning and belting out 14 hits in an 18-7 victory.
Elisha Ramirez went 2-for-4 with five RBIs in Friday's game.
Megan Blanks also had two hits.
Cayla Crooks drove in two runs in Saturday's first game.
Blanks went 3-for-4 with five RBIs, while Ramirez went 3-for-4 with four RBIs in the second game. Benedict scored eight runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second inning for a 15-0 lead.
Benedict improves to 9-6 overall and 6-3 in the SIAC. Clark Atlanta falls to 4-15 overall and 2-7 in the SIAC.
The Lady Tigers will travel to Hoover, Ala., to compete in the SIAC Crossover Tournament next week.
