Benedict's Clarke, Washington Named SIAC Track And Field Athletes Of The Week

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its SIAC Men's Track and Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, April 1, honoring student-athletes for impressive performances in meets last week. Benedict's Darian Clarke and Zack Washington were recognized.

MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – DARIAN CLARKE, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Junior | Bridgetown, Barbados
Clarke won the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.42, then won the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.77, which currently ranks as the fourth-fastest time in Division II, at the Gotta Run Invitational, hosted by Southern Wesleyan University. Clarke ranks number two in the 100 and number 1 in the men's 200 in the SIAC.

MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK – ZACK WASHINGTON, BENEDICT COLLEGE
Junior | Columbia, S.C.
Washington won the high jump with a jump of 1.95 meters (6 feet, 4 ¾ inches) at the Gotta Run Invitational hosted by Southern Wesleyan University. His jump is tied for second-best in the SIAC this season.
