COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed in the Gamecock Invite on Saturday at USC's Cregger Track, and won three events with several other noteworthy finishes.
The Benedict teams will compete at the South Carolina State University Bulldog Invite next weekend in preparation for the 2025 Cricket SIAC Championship, hosted by Benedict College at USC's Cregger Track April 23-25. For ticket information, visit

Women's Highlights:
- Jada David won the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.02 meters (40 feet, ½ inch).
- Yassmine Chambers won the women's shot put with a mark of 12.52 meters (41 feet, 1 inch).
- Paris Stanton won the women's hammer throw with a mark of 47.52 meters (155 feet, 11 inches). She was also fourth in the women's shot put with a mark of 11.60 meters (38 feet, ¾ inch).
- Daneika Williamson was sixth in the women's hammer throw with a throw of 38.91 meters (127 feet, 8 inches).
- Karma Moultrie finished eighth in the women's high jump with a jump of 1.45 meters (4 feet, 9 inches).
Men's Highlights:
- Darian Clarke finished fourth in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.12.
- Matthew Paul finished seventh in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 47.99
- Javel Best was eighth in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 48.04.
- Sadiki Marsh was eighth in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.28.
- Kelvin Kiprop was eighth in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:19.72.
- Nelson Kipkemboi was 10th in the men's 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:22.85.
- David Epps was seventh in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.31.
- Jacobie Sims finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.89.
- Benedict's 4x100-meter relay team of David Smith, Matthew Paul, Javel Best, and Darian Clarke finished fourth with a season-best time of 40.73, the 34th-fastest time in Division II this season.
- Benedict's 4x400-meter relay team of Terrel Alexander, Jessiah Jones, Javel Best and Matthew Paul finished fourth with a time of 3:14.93.
- Alex Thelumsa finished fourth in the high jump with a jump of 1.86 meters (6 feet, 1 ¼ inches),
- Zack Washington finished second, and was the top collegiate finisher, in the long jump with a jump of 7.40 meters (24 feet, 3 ½ inches). He also finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 14.18 meters (46 feet, 6 ¼ inches).
- Chase Ransom finished second, and was the top collegiate finisher, in the men's discus throw with a throw of 46.12 meters (151 feet, 4 inches). He also finished second in the hammer throw with a throw of 48.45 meters (158 feet, 11 inches).
- Morris Walker finished seventh in the discus throw with a throw of 40.43 meters (132 feet, 8 inches).
