ATLANTA, Ga. – The Benedict College softball team will face Tuskegee at 10 a.m. on Monday in the opening round of the 2025 Cricket SIAC Softball Championship, taking place at the South Commons Softball Complex in Columbus, Ga.
The Lady Tigers (18-20 overall, 12-12 SIAC) earned the fourth seed from the SIAC East Division. Tuskegee (26-6 overall, 20-2 SIAC) is the top seed from the SIAC West Division. In their only meeting this season, Tuskegee took an 8-6 victory at the SIAC Crossover, breaking a 6-6 tie with one run in the fifth inning and one run in the sixth inning.
The other 10 a.m. game will see Albany State, the second seed from the SIAC East, taking on Miles, the third seed from the SIAC West. Two more first-round games will take place at 12:30 p.m. with Spring Hill (second seed, SIAC West) taking on Fort Valley State (third seed, SIAC East), and Edward Waters (top seed, SIAC East) taking on Lane (fourth seed, SIAC West).
The winner between Benedict and Tuskegee will advance to the winner bracket game at 3 p.m. on Monday. The other winner bracket game will be played at 5:30 p.m. The loser will drop to the loser bracket game at 3 p.m. on Monday, followed by the second loser bracket game.
