Benedict's Johnson, Nash Participate In Elite HoopHer Experience

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two members of the Benedict College women's basketball team were recently selected to participate in the Elite HoopHer Experience, a premier development camp designed to empower the next generation of women student-athletes both on and off the court.

Benedict's Raven Johnson and Alaysia Nash participated in the camp from May 28-31 in Atlanta. The Elite HoopHer Experience brought together a select group of young women from across the country for a transformative, four-day program that focused on holistic development. The camp blended elite-level basketball training with personal and professional growth workshops preparing participants for success beyond the game.

Johnson and Nash engaged in a variety of sessions, including: Financial Literacy & NIL Education; Health, Wellness & Mental Health (including yoga and nutrition); On-Court Skill Development; Media Training; Career Panel: Black Women in Sports; Workforce Readiness & Branding; and Beauty Within the Beast" Sessions (covering self-care, styling, and presentation)

The experience also included private sessions, team-building activities like bowling and game night, and culminated with a legacy dinner celebrating the future of women's basketball.

"This was a tremendous opportunity for Alaysia and Raven," said Head Coach James Rice. "They'll not only sharpen their skills on the court but gain tools to grow as young women and future leaders. I'm proud to see them represent Benedict on a platform that truly uplifts and develops the whole student-athlete."
