Zack Washington finished fifth overall and earned All-American honors in the men's long jump event at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championship on Friday at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Washington scratched on his first jump attempt, competing in the second flight, then jumped 7.17 meters (23 feet, 6 ¼ inches) on his second attempt. On his third attempt in the first flight, he jumped 7.42 meters (24 feet, 3 ¾ inches), which propelled him to fifth place overall and secured a spot in the finals.
Washington wasn't able to surpass that jump on his three attempts in the finals. He jumped 7.26 meters, followed by jumps of 6.91 meters and 7.17 meters on his final attempt.
Washington becomes Benedict's first indoor track & field All-American since 2023, when Shemar Miller finished third in the men's triple jump, and second overall. Washington also earned All-American recognition last May after finishing fifth in the outdoor national championship.
