ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Benedict College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams warmed up for next week's SIAC Championship with several outstanding performances at the Sharonda Coleman Singleton Classic on the campus of South Carolina State on Saturday.
The men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Zion Jones,
Stephen Judd,
Terrel Alexander and
David Smithg finished second overall with a season-best time of 40.78, three-one hundreds behind Claflin.
DuShaun Tucker also had a season-best throw in the men's hammer throw, finishing fifth overall with a throw of 47.32 meters (155 feet, 3 feet).
Morris Walker had a season-best mark in the men's discus, finishing third with a throw of 44.38 meters (145 feet, 7 inches).
Jacobie Sims also had a third-place finish in the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.69.
Benedict will host the 2026 SIAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, presented by Toyota, at the Sheila and Morris Cregger Track on the campus of the University of South Carolina, beginning on Tuesday and wrapping up on Thursday. Tickets are available at
