AUGUSTA, Ga. –
Rajai Cousley fired a four-over 76 to earn medalist honors at the Paine College Invitational and help lead the Benedict College men's golf team to a victory on Tuesday at the Jones Creek Golf Club.
Benedict fired a team score of 335 to beat runner-up Morehouse College, which shot a 344. Johnson C. Smith was third with a 359, followed by St. Augustine's College (372) and Paine College (436).
Cousley's 76 was the top score of the day, edging Sam Cudjoe of St. Augustine's by two strokes.
William Edwards fired an 81 to tie for third overtall, Marques Edwards shot an 88 to finish in a tie for 10
th.
Ignacio Espina and
Sam Smith each shot 90 to finish tied for 13
th.
Joshua Calhoun (106, 23
rd) and
Ceasar Nieto (115, 25
th) rounded out the Benedict scores.
The men's golf team wrapped up the fall part of their schedule. The next match will be March 11 and 12 at the J. Ralph Hargett Memorial Intercollegiate Tournament in Monroe, N.C., hosted by Wingate University.
