SALISBURY, N.C. – The Benedict College men's golf team opened the 2017-18 season on Wednesday at the Livingstone Blue Bear Invitational at The Revival Course at The Crescent in Salisbury, N.C.

Benedict shot a team score of 346 to finish third behind Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith. Livingstone won the match with a 312. Johnson C. Smith fired a 336.

Ignacio Espina led the Tigers with an 11-over 83 to finish tied for seventh place. Sam Smith shot an 87 to finish in 15^th place. He was followed by Rajai Cousley and Marqus Edwards, who each shot an 88. William Edwards fired a 96.

Benedict will be back in action on Sept. 28 at the Black College Hall of Fame Tournament in Atlanta.
