Benedict Softball Team Named National Stolen Base Champions

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Benedict College softball team continued its stolen base dominance, as the NCAA recently released the final Division II softball stats and statistical champions.

Benedict led NCAA Division II in stolen bases per game, winning the national statistical championship for the fourth time since 2016. The Lady Tigers averaged 5.06 stolen bases per game, stealing 81 out of 84 attempts in 16 games.

Individually, Taylor McNeal led the nation in stolen bases per game at 1.31 per game, stealing 21 bases in 21 attempts in 16 games. Deyonce Lewis ranked fifth nationally in stolen bases per game at 0.86, stealing 12 bases in 12 attempts in 14 games.
